On these cold days you may want the comfort of a good breakfast at the office to help get yourself motivated. Driving to and from work in the dark certainly zaps my enthusiasm! Shapiro's has a great pastry tray for $5.50 per person, minimum 10 person order. It includes assorted bagels, fruit & cheese filled Danish, muffins, cinnamon rolls, and croissants with cream cheese, sweet creamy butter, and assorted Knott's Berry Farm jams and jellies. Delivery options are available.

We were proud to serve a local agency this morning. Coffee, fresh squeezed orange juice, pastries, bagels, and fruit salad for 60 people!

I know we have blogged about bagels before, but it's worth repeating. We definitely have the best bagels in Indianapolis! Did you know we provide bagels to a lot of the local hotels for their breakfast service? They also refrigerate and freeze very well. We have all seed, blueberry, bran, cinnamon raisin, cranberry pecan, energy bars, garlic, jalapeno pepper & cheese, marble rye, onion, plain, pumpernickel, poppyseed, sesame seed and six grain.
We have one very nice local church who bring bagels to their building every Sunday morning. You can order ahead or come in and take your chances on what we have left. Some days they go very fast! Of course we have Philadelphia cream cheese to go with them. If you need jelly or jam, we have some of the finest from Clearbrook Farms. Check them out at

If you've ever been to the Indianapolis Deli you surely have seen Russell in the front window cutting our meat every day. Russell has been with Shapiro's for......ever it seems! We found out today Russell is going to have some bypass surgery. We wish him a successful operation and a quick recovery! He has been working in the early, early morning for many years now. No one can cut meat for our meat case like him. He is hands down the best meat cutter in the restaurant. If you ordered a party tray, Russell cut the meat. If you had a catering order, Russell probably cut your meat. If you came in for breakfast, you probably got a "Good Morning" from Russell. If you came in to pick up bagels, Russell took care of you. Everybody think good thoughts for Russell! Hopefully he will be back in the front window of Shapiro's soon.
